Lots of people admire the streamlined cowl doors fitted to factory Pitts
S-1Ts. However, the stock door is too narrow to fit standard S-1
aircraft.
Aerographic have developed streamlined aluminium cowling doors similar
in configuration to factory S-1T cowling doors, but specifically to fit the
S1 firewall with plenty of spare material available to allow trimming to suit individual installations.
These doors are manufactured by hand on an English wheeling machine from half-hard aluminium sheet.
Although not cheap, they make a great job of cleaning up the airflow around the top-half of the cowling.
Supplied as a pair. Will require trimming and final working to suit individual aircraft.
